Tuesday 10th= I missed Jamie's IT session as I had a meeting with my learning support worker, in a couple of weeks we have a catch up day so I shall catch up on todays session then. After lunch we had a session with Sarah, she showed us a powerpoint and put us in groups for a topical debate on eco-friendly fashion that we are going to have after christmas. I am in the "for" panel, I think it is going to get quite heated as there are some big voices in the group! It shall certainly be interesting.
Wednesday 11th= Finished my fashion logo for my design label with some images that I copyed in Illustrator and some information on the "collection" I had made. I finished quite early as I had done most of it last lesson so i got copying images from the internet, I'm getting quite good at it now!
Thursday 12th= Pattern cutting was ok today, we did about buttons which I really enjpyed because I LOVE buttons! I have a MASSIVE collection of them, alot of them I only have the one of as I find them wherever I go, especially at work they are everywhere! We also did facings and interfacings, I really enjoyed doing this is found it really easy and understood what I had to do straight away, unlike everyone else, they all seemed to struggle, it made me very happy that I understood what we were doing for once!

Tuesday 3rd = I made my first proper flat drawing of a t-shirt today in Jamie's class, my first attempt wasn't very good, nor was my second or third. After a bit of practise I got the hang of it and started enjoying myself. Now we are doing fashion based computer things I am liking the sessions a whole lot more that before. I'm still not all that confident with it, but a bit more practise and I'm sure I'll bee fine!
Wednesday 4th= We made a fashion logo and label today for when we are proper fashion designers, it was quite exciting thinking that in the not to distant future we will be qualified fashion designers! Kind of scary to think about but really exciting at the same time. I am really pleased with my design and think it looks quite good!
Thursday 5th= We were shown how to put the sleeves on our bodices today, I found it ok actually, although I did have a few difficulties to start wth, I got there in the end and didn't have quite as much unpicking to do as some people! We were only told to sew one sleeve today as we are going to do the other tomorrow. In the afternoon we were shown how to make certain types of seams, i am going to need ALOT of practise with the square seam for this to be perfect! I can't get it round my head how you do it! I have done it a few times and keep getting the same bit wrong, although I am sure I am doing it how we were told. I need to get someone to help me.
Friday 6th= It was a catch up day on the sewing machines today which was good as this meant I got to finish my bodice. This took me nearly allday on/off as I kept getting little things wrong and had to keep unpicking it. I got to the point were I didn't think I would ever got it finished! I finally did at 4pm and was SO pleased with myself, it felt like a real achievment. throughout the day i made alot of the seams again that are in my folder. I made them look alot neater than my first attempts at them. I was hoping to get Caroline to help me with the square seam from yesturday but I didn't get to that stage as it took me so long to complete my bodice.
Monday 9th= We were given the new brief for our design project which is melting pot. I am really looking forward to it as I love looking to other cultures for inspiration. For this project I am looking into different religions and there wedding ceremonies and dresses. I am going to design a wedding dress for one of them, but I havent made up my mind yet what religion to use.

Thursday 29th= We were shown how to move darts in a pattern in pattern cutting. We did so many different samples of lots of different darts and we were given homework! It felt like I was at school again hehe. I think I get the jist of moving darts but I'm not that confident yet, I'm hoping that after I have completed the homework I will be understand more about how to move darts and where to move them too. After lunch we made patterns for a waisted bodice we made it into four patterns instead of two. I didnt get it all finished but have been told we will have time to finish it tomorrow.
Friday 30th= Second day of pattern cutting, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We made the template for an A-Line skirt that we are going to be making in construction next week. We were also shown how to make a circle skirt. I am going to make one in my size so that I have a better understanding of the making of one as we are not making these in construction. We finished all of our work for today early so we finished yesturdays work and did the homework, all I have left to do for the homework is cut out my patterns and put them in the correct envelope in my folder.
Monday 2nd= We went fabric sourcing in London which was really good. The stores were rather small, hot and clostraphobic for my liking but the fabrics they had were amazing! I got lots of samples and some ideas on what I want to do for my melting pot project that we start next week. We were being picked up by the V&A and I was hoping to visit it before we left but I didnt have time, we spent too long having a hot chocolate in a cafe off of Oxford Street! I am going to go up at christmas to see the exhibition that is on there, I might do abit of christmas shopping whilst im there aswell!
